FAQs for student, merchant, and general issues

Student:

• Q: Who can participate?
  A: To participate, your student group must register in our system. Groups must have at least 3 members who are enrolled in the same college/university and are members of the same school-sanctioned collegiate organization/group (e.g. sports team, fraternity, cooking club, math team, etc.). Each group member must be of legal age (18+).
• Q: Can I be part of more than one group at a time?
  A: You are able to participate in multiple groups; however, you can only hold an executive position with one group.
• Q: How long can I participate in the coupon program?
  A: You can participate for up to 4 years while enrolled in a college/university. Once you graduate, you will no longer be eligible. At this time, your group will have to choose whether to reassign your executive position (if you hold one), give its book of business to another group, or disband.
• Q: Why can we only change one group member at a time?
  A: Here Is My Coupon requires a majority confirmation from your executives for every group decision, so these changes must be done individually. This will ensure that Here Is My Coupon processes your requested changes accurately and preserves the rights of your executive members.
• Q: Why do we need the current address of the treasurer?
  A: Your student group will receive tax paperwork and checks via mail. If the mailing address is not up to date, these critical documents and payments will not be received.
• Q: When do we have to renew our memberships?
  A: The renewal process will be triggered automatically by our system every 12 months. At the end of the 11th month, a renewal request will be sent via email to each group member. If it is decided at that point not to continue with Here Is My Coupon, the group will need to reassign the book of business to another group.
• Q: Can we give our book of business to another group?
  A: Yes, but only during the renewal process and only to another group on your campus. At this time, an email will be sent to each group member asking to continue with Here Is My Coupon or to reassign your book of business to another group. If the majority of the group members confirm to reassign their book of business, another email will be sent to all group members with instructions to do so. Please note: this option is unavailable during the last 7 days of the month due to the sign-up time process for the new group.
• Q: How many merchants do we need to recruit?
  A: Your group has to recruit at least 25 registered merchants in the first 6 weeks to remain active in our program.
• Q: Which shops can I approach?
  A: You can approach any merchant in your territory that has not posted a “Here Is My Coupon Supporter” or “Here Is My Coupon Member” decal in their front window. Your territory is the 5-mile radius surrounding your school.
• Q: How do I know which merchants are in my territory?
  A: Here Is My Coupon’s database knows your school’s location based on your registration. In your account, you will have access to a map that will allow you to view the 5 mile radius around your school to see which merchants are included in your territory.
• Q: Can I create the account for a merchant I acquire?
  A: Each Merchant must initiate the registration process. Once they have started, you can help them by providing a description of their business and up to 5 photos.
• Q: How much do we get paid?
  A: Your group will be paid a percentage of every merchant’s coupon payment. As your group accumulates more merchant coupons, the percentage of payment that your group receives will increase. When a student group secures 150+ merchants, your student group will receive 40% of the shared earnings.

  You also get paid a $200 referral bonus for each student group outside of your college/university that you refer that is successful in securing 25 merchant coupons within 6 weeks of their registration.
• Q: Do we get paid even if we don’t make our threshold requirements of either 25 merchant coupons within the first 6 weeks of operation or 75 coupons (subject to revision) within the first year?
  A: Yes! As long as your group is active, you get paid a commission for every single merchant coupon you secure, regardless of your standing relative to the threshold requirements.
• Q: How does the group referral work?
  A: Any registered student group can refer other groups from a different college/university to Here Is My Coupon and earn $200 per successful referral. For your group to receive a referral bonus, the referred group has to credit yours during registration and then accumulate at least 25 merchant coupons within 6 weeks of their registration. The only limitation is that your group cannot refer more than 50 student groups from the same club, group, or organization. For example, a fraternity chapter can only refer up to 50 chapters from the same fraternity.
• Q: What do we do about taxes?
  A: Here Is My Coupon will provide your group the appropriate paperwork for you to fill out for your taxes. Please consult your faculty advisor about the applicable tax laws and filing procedures in your state.
• Q: How secure are our email addresses and personal information?
  A: Here Is My Coupon will not sell or distribute any part of your contact and/or personal information to another party under any circumstance. Our website is securely firewalled and protected. Only executive members of your group can see this information. Should you wish to end your participation with Here Is My Coupon, your information will be destroyed.
• Q: What happens if our school changes our e-mail addresses?
  A: It is highly unlikely that Universities/Colleges will change the domain name. However if this happens, please contact Here Is My Coupon directly at: support@hereismycoupon.com

Merchant:

• Q: Can the student group I’m working with sign me up?
  A: Yes. The student group you credit can provide a description of your business, up to 5 photos and hours of operation. All verification and payment information must be entered by the merchant for security purposes.
• Q: What is the difference between the corporate and merchant accounts?
  A: A corporate account is created for corporate companies. Any business with more than one location has the option of choosing our corporate account option to centralize and stabilize their online coupon efforts. The corporate account feature will save your business time by allowing one person to monitor and manage all online coupons for each store. A merchant account is the standard Here Is My Coupon online coupon account. This account is used by merchants with just one location.
• Q: Where is the sample coupon my student group made for me?
  A: The sample coupon your student group made for you will be transferred automatically to your account. Please coordinate with your student group to make sure they use the exact business name on the sample coupon that is on your account to avoid a system error. If the automatic transfer does not work, your student group has the option of transferring the coupon manually.
• Q: Why am I limited to 3 active coupons?
  A: By setting this limit, businesses of any size will be on the same playing field by having the same amount of visibility on our website.
• Q: Can I pay extra so my coupon has preferential visibility placement (ie- at the top of the list for my business category)?
  A: No.
• Q: What happens if I pay for the wrong coupon?
  A: You can edit the coupon to fix it or just switch to another coupon with the “Switch Coupon” function.
• Q: What is the House Account?
  A: If you have not been approached by a student group, do not know of one in your area, or have been working with a group that has been disbanded, you can choose the House Account during the sign up process. If you do this, Here Is My Coupon will assign you to one of the top-performing student groups in your state.
• Q: Will my email address be locked for future registrations?
  A: Your email address may only be used once. Be certain when you sign up because your email address will be recorded in our system and locked for future registrations. Your email address will be used as your username and it is not possible for you to change your username unless you register again.
• Q: How secure are our email addresses and other account information?
  A: Here Is My Coupon will not sell or distribute any part of your contact and/or personal information to another party under any circumstance. Our website is securely firewalled and protected. Only you can see this information. Should you wish to end your participation with Here Is My Coupon, your information will be destroyed.
• Q: Refund Policy and Exchange Policy
  A: Once you have design and paid for your coupon it will be automatically set to be live on-line. HereIsMyCoupon has without any exception a NO REFUND policy although we do off our minimum performance guarantee.

Minimum Performance Guarantee
If a coupon doesn’t accumulate the 12 points in 12 months, it will stay activated until it reaches this threshold.
